Once Again...

Blogging again... and may each entry testify of His goodness and greatness, and most of all, of His love for us.

When God meets us at our time of need, He never seems closer. While we don't live for the "wow" moments with Him, those moments draw us closer to Him like never before.

Most of you know that I will be starting law school this fall, and most also know that we are expecting our second child and some may know that we have moved into a new house and are in the midst of remodelling it. Needless to say, $$ will be tight and it is easy to slip into worrying about how we would ever pay for US$130,000 in out-of-state tuition fees for law school, debt free.

An email last Thursday from the law school enquired about my current residency status for finalisation of admission. I didn't know what to reply. We had delayed law school for a year with hopes that my green card will be approved and the school will grant in-state residency status for tuition purposes. This will bring tuition fees down to $60,000. To date, green card is still in the works. When I prayed, while fretting over this matter in bed, jetlagged, Holy Spirit's answer was, "wait till Monday, you will know what to reply then". I can only believe and wait, though alternate plans and possible answers were already being formulated in my mind.

While laying in bed early Sunday morning, 2 days later, I checked my email on my i-phone and was shocked when I read this email.

"Dear Ms. Kwang,
I am pleased to inform you of your selection as a Non Resident Merit Award recipient for the 2011-12 academic year at Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis.

This scholarship, in the amount of $35000.00, may be renewable in your second and third years (6 consecutive semesters) of law school at IU-Indianapolis, if you maintain a minimum cummulative law school grade point average of 3.000 and remain classified as a non-resident of Indiana. ....."

Further clarified with the law school that if I got my green card, and get granted in-state residency status, the scholarship will still stand, albeit at 80% of the total residency tuition costs, which will further bring down what we have to pay out of pocket.

Grace... truly is the unsolicited, undeserved favour from God.
