A New Thing

All thing are New,
All things are Wonderful,
All things are New and Beautiful in the Lord.
Today He'll birth,
Today He'll reign,
Today the Lord Jesus will bring forth birthing pains!
Let us rejoice,
Let us declare,
that Jesus Christ today, He reigns!
He's my Lord,
He's my Savior,
He will bring forth new things forevermore!

"But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter." Romans 7:6

Week Ending 25/09/05

Since I have to give weekly summaries at work, I thought let's trial blogging weekly summaries of Nao's whereabouts.

Was on leave on Mon n Tues...
Mon - spent too much time watching VCDs at home, then for the first time got to drive to telok ayer arts centre for my dance rehearsal. got a thrill giving rides home to my dance mates (Jonathan - the Brit choreographer n instructor, Lay Teng n Jia) had nice supper @ Al Ahmeen with Jia n Lay Teng
Tues - spent most of the day @PS' Starbucks ploughing thru' ICIT (In Christ Image Training - an online course) materials. Attempting to complete final exam due on 30 Sep. Materials on humility was super encouraging (e.g. Faith w/o Humility = Presumption, while Humility w/o Faith = Oppression --> cool right? something to think about) then had a super relaxing massage before uncovering a cool 2nd bookstore at PS and finally bought 2nd book of Bartimeaus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud n the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (probably the only books that I can really understand by Mr. Lewis). Then, had dinner w/ Joshua @ Sushi Don.

Wed - had pilates class, ballet class and then rehearsal for perf @ end of Oct (yah, same place but this time no car... only my "kah", hahaha) super duper tired night!

Thurs - had dinner with Christina before going for BSF (studied Ruth Chapter 2)

Fri - watched a cool contemporary dance, Rise:Rose by Kota Yamazaki at NUS UCC, caught up with Germaine as well. Though super tired, but had promised to join colleagues (Lynette, Alvin and Adeline... lucky Alvin!) for chill-out at Suntec, ended at the lounge of Continental till 12am...

Sat - ran n swam n slept n prepared for Bible Study class (relationship with parents), attended own fellowship first before leading BS for the youths --- they got gently reprimanded for not paying attention that night, had an awkward silence but all was cool after =)

Sun - FAV DAY, was ursher for church service, had chance to have dim sum and really catch up with Gracie, spent afternoon @ Coffee Club Somerset w the Lord and bought a steal -- "snow, wolf, lake" 4-disc cantonese collection for only 19.90 @ cineleisure!!

Hmm, this summary took way less time than the one that I wrote for work (10 mins vs 1 hr).

In Christ Alone II

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Til he returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

The Beginning

Why blog?
--- One ponders.
To capture thoughts and conversations with God, about God?
--- There's the journal, privy to God, close friends and me.
To keep friends updated?
--- There's quality time spent over meals and cups of coffee.
So, why blog?
--- To capture inspirational content that refreshes one in the midst of daily living...
--- To gather words n thoughts that breathes life...
--- To have a go-to place that reminds the soul to remain In Christ.

I pray that you too will be blessed by the thoughts captured here.

"Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 8:39

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. " - 1 Corinthians 15:22

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." - 2 Corinthians 5:17

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone will I glory
Though I could pride myself in battles won
For I've been blessed beyond measure
And by His strength alone I overcome.
Oh I could stop and count successes
Like diamonds in my hand
But those trophies could not equal
To the grace by which I stand

In Christ alone I place my trust
And find my glory in the power of the cross
In every victory let it be said of me
My source of strength, my source of hope
is Christ alone

In Christ alone will I glory
For only by His grace I am redeemed
And only His tender mercy
Could reach beyond my weakness to my need
Now I seek no greater honor
Than just to know Him more
And to count my gains But losses
to the glory of my Lord
