Does God Exist?

Rarely do I get ministered to by forwarded stories but this was one good one...

"A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said:"I don't believe that God exists."
"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things."The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.
The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."
"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"
"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."
"Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me."
"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

(New Living Translation) 1 John 5 --> Faith in the Son of God
1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ, is a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2We know we love God's children if we love God and obey His commandments. 3Loving God means keeping His commandments, and really, that isn't difficult. 4For every child of God defeats this evil world by trusting Christ to give the victory. 5And the ones who win this battle against the world are the ones who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

(New International Version) 2 Thessalonians 3
2And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith. 3But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.

well what if the person grew up on an uninhabited island and never been told about barbers, thus would never think of coming to one? Following the analogy, would person go to hell just because some missionary haven't yet reached their island to tell them that they have to believe in Jesus in order to not go to hell?

hello,

It is clear that the Bible says that no one can come to God except through Jesus Christ, and that it is God's desire that "none should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9)All will be given an opportunity to repent, and a righteous and fair God will not exclude anyone just because he/she happens to be born in the wrong place or at a wrong time. Even though we may not know how He is going to deal with these people specifically, we know His judgment will be fair. God's creations speak of His existence and even though one may not hear of Jesus Christ, if one seeks earnestly for God to reveal Himself, He will. Jesus promises that those who seek will find Him. There are people today who earnestly seek to know the true and living God, and they will be reached no matter where they live. Cornelius is one such example in the New Testament.

THose who have never heard about Jesus will not be automatically damned. I believe God will deal with all fairly on Judgment Day and that no one can claim that they have not had a fair hearing.
