The Vision

"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets,
That he may run who reads it.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come, It will not tarry."
(Habakkuk 2:2-3)

Never expected myself to be encouraged by verses in Habukkuk, but boy, these verses are surely relevant as we contemplate what the Lord has installed for us this new year.

So often, God gives us a vision and we can't wait to make it come to pass that we miss the fact that we need to continue to abide in Christ. Many times, when God gives us a glimpse of His plans, we need to patiently wait on Him; to wait for His timing. It is possible to have a godly vision but fleshly motives. We need the Lord to work in us, to prepare us before we can step into the promised land. It was not in vain that the Lord made the Israelites wander in the desert before leading them into the land that's flowing with milk and honey.

So let's gird up our loins, wait in patience and pray with persistence, as the Lord unfolds His plans for us this new year...
