GRACE
I know that I came face to face with God's love at my worst, not my best, and that Amazing Grace saved a wretch like me.
- Grace does not depend on what we have done for God, but what God has done for us.
- In Christian theology, when the servants erred, the King was punished.
- The free offer of grace extends not just to the undeserving but to those who in fact deserve the opposite.
- God's arms are always extended, we are the ones that turn away.
- We're all oddballs, but God loves us anyhow.
"The economy of undeserved grace has power over the economy of moral deserts" (Miroslav Volf)
"What is your primary identity in life? I am the one Jesus loves... He's very fond of me." (Brennan Manning)
"I really only love God as much as I love the person I love the least" (Dorothy Day)

Truth! Amen! Keep it up.
Hope you've been blessed!
hellos! always blessed to hear from you :)
2 questions for u.
1. do we need faith to be able to receive His grace?
2. is faith given to us by God by His grace?
I don't think it's faith that allows one to receive grace. The very awareness of your impurity, leading to repentance and your need for Christ, opens the door to grace. One received grace when one is able to come to repentance and acknowledge that one needs God. Grace is free, it is freely given... it's up to us to receive it. That I guess is the loophole in Christianity. it is true that u could go out and sin all u want, and repent and God would still forgive u. His grace would cover that. But grace must be received. It's not about having faith to receive, but acknowledging that one is nothing w/o God and needs grace, then poomf... u receive grace. Those who profess that they have received God's grace and yet continue in sin would unlikely have truly received His grace, for His grace would lead us to repentance and gives us the power to overcome our sin.
Every good thing comes from the Lord. Yes, I believe that it is God's grace, to give us over and beyond what we do not deserve, to help us believe in Him. When we embrace the fulness of God's freely given grace; when we know that we are now adopted into the Heavenly Family as children of God, it's not so much that His grace gives us faith, but that the knowledge of His abundant grace towards us draws us to have faith in Him and in His word and in His promises. Knowing that by His grace we have freely received all good things, chief of which is His Only Begotten Son, we cannot help but have faith, we cannot help but love this Living and Loving Father.
amen sista, that was beautifully written!! u are one annointed babe!
juz to share my perspective.
u know for awhle (dates back all the way to purdue times) i wuz struggling to understand what really is faith and grace...are they synonymous, one but the same thing? basically all my questions revolved around the 2 questions i posted above.
but one revelation given by PP is that "when we see God's grace, God sees our faith".
this really brought life to me u know. suddenly all the issues on me trying to understand faith and grace can somehow revolve around this one simple sentence.
